North Rift:NCCK rolls out youth training on peace monitoring!

Youth in using Gishu County have been urged to collect, report information and early warning signs in the right manner through the digital platforms
The early warning response is aimed at enhancing national peace ,cohesion and integration.
Speaking in a meeting organized by NCCK Uasin Gishu branch that brought together youth from six sub counties of Uasin Gishu , Anastasia Some, peace director in the office of the interior and national coordination said they are creating awareness to the youth by organizing ball game tournaments, through nyumba kumi initiatives as well as through churches in order to promote peace .

We are reaching out to youth through games to educate them on how to avoid conflict and violence in the community, Added Some.
The Director of youth affairs in the Uasin Gishu County government , Peter Ruto while giving his key note address during the youth capacity building forum being held at the Reformed Church of East Africa Eldoret, has warned a majority of youth lack employable skills leading to unemployment .
The forum aims at enhancing data collection and reporting on early warning response in hotspot counties in line with the UNSCR 2250.
The ongoing forum has been organized by NCCK North Rift chapter alongside the “Wadada wa pawa” initiative with the support of UN women which aims at advancing women participation in peace building and development .
Rev. Grace Rugut,The NCCK North Rift Regional Manager is optimistic that the programs will empower more women and youth in economic development through sustainable peace .
