AC Milan defender Kyle Walker has revealed that his long-standing pre-match ritual of spitting water was inspired by WWE legend Triple H.

Speaking about his admiration for the wrestling icon, Walker admitted that he became a fan of Triple H during his childhood due to the wrestler’s dominance in WWE.

“Triple H was winning everything in WWE, so he just became my favourite,” the England international stated.

One of Triple H’s most famous trademarks was his dramatic entrance, which included spitting water into the air before stepping into the ring.

Walker, now 33, admitted that he adopted this signature move as a teenager and has stuck with it throughout his football career.

“He did that spitting water thing, so I started doing it when I was 16 and have just continued it my whole career,” Walker explained. The ritual has now become a familiar sight for fans who watch him before kick-off.

Walker’s revelation sheds light on the influence of WWE on footballers, with many players often expressing admiration for professional wrestlers.

His tribute to Triple H is yet another example of how sports stars across different disciplines draw inspiration from each other.

The former Manchester City captain remains one of the most experienced defenders in world football, having won multiple Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola.

His dedication to maintaining pre-match habits, including the WWE-inspired water spit, highlights the unique traditions that shape athletes’ mental preparation.
