The metallic box that contained four pots inside and an empty five litre jerrican that was dumped by a man at the doorstep of his parent's in-law home in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
There was shock and disbelief at a village in Elgeyo Marakwet County
when a man dumped suspected witchcraft paraphernalia at the door step
of parents’ in-law.
Elijah Kipkoech , a leading pharmacist in Iten town is said to
have committed the weird act that has become the talk of Sergoit
village after he separated from his estranged wife.
Christine Ego, the estranged wife of the pharmacist said they were
still reeling in shock over the incident that has forced them to seek
the services of clan elders for cleansing exercise.
She said the suspected witchcraft paraphernalia contained four pots
and a five litre empty Jerrica that had been placed inside a metallic
box.
“My family members were relaxing at home when a boda boda rider
arrived with a metallic box saying that it was a gift from my
estranged husband before he left in a huff,” said Ego.
However, when they opened the metallic box, they were shocked to find
four pots and an empty five litre Jerican forcing them to scamper in
different directions pondering what to do next.
She said they have never witnessed such a bizarre incident in their
lives adding that his family members were still tongue-tied.
“We shall conduct a special prayer and ceremony to exorcise evil
spirits given that the act was allegedly committed by my former
husband,” said Ego

They reported the matter to police whereupon a team of detectives from
the directorate of criminal investigations department came and picked
the cargo and took it to Iten police station for safe custody.
A senior police officer who declined to be named confirmed the
incident and said they launched an investigation into the matter.
“We intend to summon the man behind the weird incident to record a
statement pending the next course of action into the matter,” said the
senior police detective.
