A woman pleads for Justice after her Life and that of her two Children were threatened by Step sons

There was drama at the Langas Police Station in Eldoret Uasin Gishu County, when a Human Rights activist publicly confronted the Langas Police Boss John Odhiambo accusing him of frustrating the efforts of a Middle aged woman Abimael Jepkemoi Ngeny from getting police assistance after her life and that of her two children were threatened by people known to her.
The Human Right activist Kimutai Kirui from the Centre against Torture says Abimael who has been evicted from her place of residence by sons to her Ailing Husband Richard Kimalel Chesimet, has booked over fifteen cases on the occurrence book at the Langas Police station on diverse dates but none of the cases have been investigated nor action taken against the suspects ,
“Abimael has recorded over four OB Numbers on various days and months but unfortunately the Police at The Langas police Station led by The Ocpd have turned a blind eye on her plight, She has been forced out of her matrimonial Home, threatened , she has been currently forced to live a miserable life of abject poverty and despite the efforts to seek assistance from this station no help ha come her way,”Said Kirui.

Abimael who is under threat from her step sons says she has made fifteen reports to various police station in kapseret sub county including Langas police station and pioneer to no avail,
“At 22 I got married to Mr Richard Kimalel Chesimet and together we bore two children ,But Upon my husband falling sick my Step sons Hillary Kipkemoi chesimet and Geoffrey Kipchirchir started hiring goons to frustrate my life, They cut off water and electricity supply in my house before finally forcing me out of the House at Elgon View estate, She said.

Abimael was evicted from her matrimonial house on 10th last month where she had resided for the last ten years following a court order- Miscellaneous No E111/2022 that was heard ex -parte.
Despite an existing court case Children Suite E 166/2021, Abimael has been denied justice over the criminal attacks directed at her by her step sons and she has called upon the Independent Police Oversight Authority to investigate the Conduct of Police officers At the Langas Police station led by the OCPD for what she calls selective justice.

The Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Ayub Ali has said the matter is under investigation and has urged members of the public complaining over the conduct of the Langas Police Station OCPD to file their complaint.
