Police officers in Turbo Subcounty, Uasin Gishu, have commenced thorough investigations following a shocking incident in which a man allegedly killed his mother on Saturday night at Maili Nne Estate, located on the outskirts of Eldoret City.
The deceased, a prominent Muslim businesswoman, had been a well-known figure in the West Indies Estate, where she operated her business for many years. Her body has since been transported to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary as detectives work to uncover the full details surrounding the tragedy.
According to preliminary reports, the suspect is the woman’s son, who after committing the crime, attempted to take his own life. He was found in critical condition and rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he is currently fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Authorities have yet to determine what might have driven him to commit such a heinous act, and an extensive investigation is underway.
“This is a deeply disturbing case, and we are leaving no stone unturned in our pursuit of the truth,” said a senior police officer involved in the investigation. “Our team is working around the clock to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and establish the sequence of events that led to this tragic incident.”
The police have urged the public to remain calm as they piece together the facts of the case. “We understand that this incident has caused a lot of shock and grief in the community, but we ask for patience as the investigation continues,” the officer added.
