Minister Warns of Action Against Substandard Animal Feed Producers Amidst Feed Quality Concerns

Agriculture and Livestock Cabinet Minister, Mithika Linturi , has issued a stern warning, indicating that stringent measures will be enforced against animal feed companies found culpable of producing substandard feeds in the North Rift region and across the nation.

During his visit to MP Oscar Sudi’s animal farm on Friday, Mithika emphasized that his ministry has initiated various projects and strategies aimed at reducing the cost of animal feed nationwide.

Mithika announced that the government has eliminated levies previously imposed on raw materials utilized in the production of animal feeds. He assured farmers of the government’s commitment to bolstering animal husbandry practices.

Notably, Mithika highlighted that the Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) has been directed to purchase a liter of milk from farmers at Ksh 50 starting from the 1st of this month.
