Food Donations From An American based Organization to Public Schools in Kangundo ,Machakos/Photo Mutisya

The Non-Governmental organization has distributed relief food to all the 69 public Primary schools Kangundo Constituency Machakos County.
Each of the schools received sacks of Maize and Beans to help students affected by severe hunger remain in schools.
The Donation was made by an American Organization The Caring Hearts hands of Hope through Dr.Vincent Kituku a resident of Kangundo.
Eliud Thyaka Mutisya the head of Kikondeni primary school said that the school was hard hit by children lacking food with some even skipping classes.
“We are glad to have received the food donations from Dr.Vincent kituku the donation will last our students at least for a week or two and this will go a long way in ensuring they continue to learn uninterrupted, our school has been had hit by the famine occasioned by a long period of drought”
In Kwamwalile Primary school, Ann Mutuku the Head teacher could not hide her joy after receiving the relief food, saying it was the only thing they ensure students remained in school
“Most of our pupils have been absconding classes due to the ongoing famine that has ravaged many families,”Said Mutuku.
Across the 69 schools the message remain the same for Joshua Kamunzyu the Headteacher Mbondoni primary school the donation could not have come at a better time and urged other well-wishers to join hands in supporting pupils remain in school by donating food .
Moses Mitaa the coordinator thanked the efforts of Dr. Vincent Kituku and called for more collaboration with other well-wishers in supplementing the Governments efforts of helping hundreds of families who are food insecure.
More than Four Million Kenyans are food Insecure.
