Gospel artists accused of misuse of funds meant for Ilagosa’s send-off

Solomon Mukubwa, Anastasia Mukabwa, Florence Andenyi and Ringtone Apoko among gospel artists who eulogized with the late Ilagosa wa Ilagosa’s family; Embezzlement of funds emerge.
Wandega village grounds in Busali Ward Vihiga County hosted a huge congregation of artists and mourners who came to give the artist a befitting send-off.
Ilagosa, who passed on at St. Mary’s hospital Lang’ata on 3rd, February 2023 has been eulogized as a great man of God who was committed in changing people’s lives.
Led by their National director Geoffrey Kwatemba, the artists took turns in honoring Ilagosa through live performances that brought enthusiasm among mourners.
Anastacia Mukabwa was the first one on stage performing her hit song Kiatu. Solomon Mukubwa was next with his Mfalme wa Amani song paving way for Kibali song by Florence Andeyi.
Ringtone Apoko gave his all in performing Tenda Wema song.
The session reached the climax when Ilagosa wa Ilagosa’s hit song Sala Zangu rocked the air tears rolling down chins of many mourners.
In his speech, Kwatemba refuted claims of misuse of funds meant for Ilagosa’s send-off.
“Hawa ni watu wa kula pesa za matanga? Pesa zote zilikadriwa vyema.” He said.
He further clarified that, some of the money was used to cater for hospital bills, food and paid school fees for Ilagosa’s son.
“Pesa zimelipia mwanawe David Manogo karo ya miaka mbili shuleni. Zingine zimeshughulikia chakula. Wasanii wasipakwe tope.” He added.
Kwatemba eulogized the late as a good friend and confidant.
“Ilagosa amekuwa rafiki yangu kwa muda. Tulitembea na Ilagosa hata wakati wa msiba wa mamake. Kwatemba.” He said.
He thanked the gospel industry for standing with Ilagosa’s family wishing them well.
“Hawa waimbaji wamefanya kazi kubwa sana. Asanti Kwa kazi nzuri.” He added.
