World Rugby has announced Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. as an Official Supporter of the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027, reinforcing the tournament’s expanding commercial partnerships ahead of its return to Australia from 1 October to 13 November 2027.
The agreement extends Mitsubishi Estate’s long-standing commitment to rugby, having served as an Official Sponsor of Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan and a continued supporter of the Japan National Team since 2020. One of Japan’s largest real estate developers, the company is widely recognised for promoting sustainable, community-focused urban development—values it says align strongly with rugby’s principles of integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline, and respect.
Mitsubishi Estate has played a notable role in promoting rugby in Japan through initiatives such as public viewing events, community programmes, and its signature Marunouchi 15-chome PROJECT. Its new partnership aims to elevate fan engagement on a global scale as Rugby World Cup 2027 expands to 24 teams competing across seven host cities.
World Rugby Chief Revenue Officer Michel Poussau welcomed the partnership, saying Mitsubishi Estate’s continued support reflects rugby’s ability to inspire and unite communities. Mitsubishi Estate President and CEO Atsushi Nakajima said the company is honoured to support another World Cup, noting its mission to contribute to “prosperous and thriving communities.”
The 2027 tournament will feature 52 matches over six weeks. World Rugby will announce the match schedule and ticket prices on 3 February 2026, with an exclusive two-week ticket presale beginning on 18 February 2026.
