By Mahlon Lichuma
World Rugby has confirmed LIQUI MOLY as an Official Partner and the Official Motor Lubricants Partner for the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 and the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2029, both set to take place in Australia. The multi-event agreement expands World Rugby’s commercial portfolio while aligning the sport with one of the world’s leading motor oil and additives brands.
Founded in Germany, LIQUI MOLY distributes its premium automotive products in about 150 countries, backed by more than 60 years of engineering expertise. The company’s range includes motor oils, additives, vehicle care and service products, all developed to high standards of precision and reliability.
The partnership marks LIQUI MOLY’s first major investment in international rugby and builds on its long-standing presence in global sports sponsorship, including Formula 1, MotoGP, the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and the IHF Handball World Championship.
World Rugby Chief Revenue Officer Michel Poussau welcomed the partnership, noting LIQUI MOLY’s global footprint, strong performance reputation and commitment to world-class sport. LIQUI MOLY Marketing Director Marco Esser said the collaboration aligns naturally with the brand’s passion for high-intensity sports and will help expand its visibility in promising markets.
The agreement provides LIQUI MOLY with extensive brand exposure across both tournaments through in-stadia, digital and event-wide integrations.
The next major milestone for Rugby World Cup 2027 will be the announcement of the match schedule and ticket prices on 3 February 2026. Fans will have an opportunity to secure tickets during a two-week presale beginning on 18 February 2026. To participate, supporters must create a Men’s Rugby World Cup ticketing account at tickets.rugbyworldcup.com by 17 February 2026.
