Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 moved another step forward with the confirmation of eight state-of-the-art stadiums across seven Australian cities, setting the stage for an expanded 24-team tournament.

The event will kick off on 1 October 2027 at Perth Stadium, a 60,000-seat venue renowned for its modern design and fan experience.

The tournament will conclude on 13 November 2027 at Stadium Australia in Sydney | Wangal, the largest venue of the event with 82,000 seats and one of only four stadiums ever to host a men’s Rugby World Cup final twice.

Five venues return from the 2003 edition, including Adelaide Oval and Brisbane Stadium, underscoring Australia’s strong rugby infrastructure.

Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium stands out as the only fully enclosed venue, with its retractable roof set to remain shut throughout the competition.

Townsville’s North Queensland Stadium will make its Rugby World Cup debut, offering a 25,000-seat setting inspired by local tropical design.

Sydney will be the only city with two venues, with the rebuilt Sydney Football Stadium joining Stadium Australia.

Host cities will stage significant matchloads: Adelaide and Melbourne will each host six pool matches, with Melbourne also staging two round-of-16 clashes.

Brisbane will host pool matches, the round of 16 and quarter-finals, while Perth will stage the tournament opener and knockout fixtures.

The next major milestone arrives on 3 February 2026, when the match schedule and ticket prices are released. Fans will access an exclusive two-week presale from 18 February 2026 at 12:00 EAT, provided they register before 17 February 2026 at 12:00 EAT.
