The Minister of Education, Julius Migosi Ogamba, has officially announced the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results to be accessed in any manner.
The minister was talking to the press at AIC Chebisas High School in Eldoret, Kenya, where he confirmed that all the 993,226 candidates who sat for the 2025 KCSE exam can check their grades online via the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal.
According to CS Ogamba, 270,715 of them attained grades of C+ and above, thus being eligible for direct admission to university. Out of the lot, 507,131 achieved C- and above compared to 476,889 in last year’s KCSE examinations. While, in total, 634,082 candidates scored D+ and more against 605,774 candidates last year, this reflects consistent progression in performance.
Using the newly revised grading system, the results have been graded by the Ministry. “As has been the practice since the 2023 KCSE, the 2025 results were calculated using the updated system, which weighs Mathematics, the best performed languages among English, Kiswahili or Kenyan Sign Language, and the best five other subjects,” Ogamba explained.
