The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a large-scale hiring initiative aimed at building a capable, responsive workforce to improve taxpayer services and support national development goals.

In a statement released on Monday, the authority revealed plans to fill several top-level and managerial roles as part of its broader institutional transformation.

Among the positions open for application are three commissioner roles, twelve deputy commissioner positions, and various managerial and support-level jobs.

“This recruitment initiative highlights our dedication to sourcing a diverse pool of talented professionals to reinforce our mission of efficient revenue collection and national development,” the statement read.

The recruitment drive comes amid a broader review of KRA’s organizational framework. The authority is undertaking internal restructuring to meet both current operational demands and anticipated future needs.

According to KRA, the ongoing organizational overhaul is designed to create a more agile and efficient workforce. It is expected to encourage a working environment centered on innovation, adaptability, and continuous learning.

“The goal of this transformation is to build a workforce that is not only efficient and service-oriented but also equipped to manage the increasingly complex landscape of tax administration,” KRA stated.

With a staff strength of over 9,000, the tax agency believes the changes will enhance its institutional capacity, enabling it to deliver consistent, high-quality services while remaining responsive to emerging fiscal and policy challenges.

KRA further emphasized that the recruitment process will adhere strictly to principles of meritocracy and transparency. The authority aims to attract and retain individuals with the right skills and leadership qualities, while ensuring fairness in the selection process.

The hiring exercise marks a key step in KRA’s long-term strategy to improve compliance, modernize operations, and better engage with taxpayers across the country.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to monitor KRA’s official platforms for more details on job descriptions, qualifications, and the application.
