Rehabilitation Works at the Closed Eldoret champions market begin

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has embarked on clearing and opening of roads around Eldoret Champions Market that was closed for seven days by the County Government.
The activity is geared at making the town accessible while at the same time making the surroundings of the retail market secure,The County government intends to install street lights around the market to make it more secure and accessible by the residents and the business community .
Currently, the County road equipments are engaged on grading of the access roads around the market in order to reduce congestion and allow for free flow of god and people.

The works will also include rehabilitating and providing motorable safe spaces between the retail market and The Eagles Hardware, an area that was initially inhabited by street families and a no go zone for a majority of Eldoret residents.
This is in line with Governor Jonathan Bii’s plan to open up roads, support 24 hour business economy and promote security for the residents of Uasin Gishu County ahead of the conferment of Eldoret Town to a city status .
Security has also been beefed up within the Eldoret central Business district in order to provide a conducive business environment that would continue to attract investors .
