Unveiling Potential, Igniting Growth: Mr. & Miss Matunda City 2023 Spotlights Western Kenya

The competition culminated in Bamum Matai (Sudan) and Judy Waruguru (Kenya) being crowned.

Beyond glitz and glam, the Mr. & Miss Matunda City 2023 pageant was a strategic play at Matunda City Resort. Titled “Tapping Talents, Promoting Tourism,” it sought to empower youth and unlock Western Kenya’s tourism potential.

“We provide youth a platform to showcase their talents and become catalysts for local tourism development,” stated Ms. Sharon Kosgey, pageant facilitator.

Mr. David Turanira, Matunda City Resort’s director, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the region’s untapped splendor. The competition culminated in Bamum Matai (Sudan) and Judy Waruguru (Kenya) being crowned.

“This is not just a crown,” declared Ms. Waruguru. “It’s a responsibility. I will leverage this platform to champion sustainable tourism and empower local communities.”
