A section of Residents from  Uasin Gishu have declared  their support for the Saba Saba mass  demonstrations that are to take place this Friday.

The protests are aimed at  conveying rejection of President William Ruto’s announced tax measures.

The Residents claim  the protests could  tame the government’s growing tax appetite and  could  force  it to bring down the plummeting costs of  basic  commodities.

According to Edward Okeyo, a resident of Uasin Gishu, the main problem facing Kenyans today is the high fuel prices.

“When the fuel prices are reduced everything else will fall into place” Stated Edward.

Azimio Leader Raila Odinga urged Kenyans to turn up in great numbers on Friday to show their disapproval of what he stated as a Parliament takeover by the executive.

However  some of the  residents have  accused  the planned  mass  action saying  the opposition ought to have shot  down the  finance  act 2023  at the  floor  of  the house  instead  of  creating civil disobedience.

“The opposition is not sincere over the high taxes ,some of their Mps were missing at the National Assembly during the  debates , they cannot  now  purport to disagree with the act  by  leading Kenyans into protests”Said  a  resident

The Azimio Leader Raila Odinga has  described the finance act 2023 as rather tyrannical and would affect Kenyans by increasing the cost of living.

Nyando Legislator Jared Okello railed at Kenya Kwanza leaders for attacking the Judiciary over its court order on Friday against the execution of the new finance law.
