Two people Nursing serious Injuries After they were attacked by youth wielding machetes at Nyakinyua/Wareng Farm
Two people are nursing serious injuries at the Moi Teaching and referral Hospital after they were attacked by youth wielding machetes at the Nyakinyua/Wareng 80 acre farm located within Kapseret Sub County.
The two who are part of the 3,000 members of the Nyakinyua/Wareng are claiming the 80 Acre piece of land they had bought in 1972 and which has since been occupied by unknown persons,
“We came here to visit our farm, with the intentions of fencing it off ,we have petitioned many government agencies over the encroachment of our land by the unknown people who continue to enjoy the protection of certain politicians within the county, suddenly some youth attacked us with machetes”Said James Rambai.
The 3,000 members who are currently squatters within the Timboroa and Burnt Forest area, are now pleading with President Dr William Ruto to assist them get back to their land,
“Most of our members continue to suffer ,we have prime land that we cannot develop just because some people have invaded our land and continue to develop it with blatant disregard to the rule of law”Said Esther Wanjiku.
The matter has was reported and booked at the Yamumbi Police Station.
