Revealed:How KSh38M was transferred from Overseas education account !

The Senate health committee chairman and the Uasin Gishu senator ,Jackson Mandago who has been grilled by the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) over the botched Finland and Canada Education Program has continued to maintain no monies were lost in the program.

The former Uasin Gishu governor who appeared before the EACC sleuths in Nairobi was demanded to explain how Ksh96M was used to sponsor the students abroad.

While addressing the Media in Nairobi,Senator Mandago maintained that no monies were embezzled and blamed political leaders and a section of parents in his Home county for politicizing the program.

“I will make sure all parents are refunded, lets divorce politics from this program “He opined

At a joint press briefing with the local leaders in Uasin Gishu led by Governor Jonathan Bii, the leaders had blamed over 300 parents for sabotaging the airlifting program by failing to settle arrears of close to KSh96.6 M used by the Overseas account secretariat to pay for their children’s fees after they faced deportation.

An investigation conducted by Hubzmedia however has indicated that over KSh38M were transferred from the Uasin Gishu Overseas Education , Account 1285922778 to the Uasin Gishu County account on two diverse dates between June 28^th and July 8^th 2022.

On June 28^th 2022 ksh4,028,000.00 was transferred to Uasin Gishu account MDC2217967076

While on July 8^th 2022 U/G County Visa MDC2218968344 Ksh 34,560,000 was transferred from the Overseas Account leaving a balance of 13,801,358.35

According to A KCB bank statement for the period between 1^st Jan 2022 and 31^st Dec 2022 most of the money transfers were effected by Meshack Ronoh and Joseph Kipkemboi who were part of the Overseas secretariat.

Two weeks ago Senator Mandago had cautioned the Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii against blaming him for the Finland Study scum claiming to have handed over County leadership on 25^th of August 2022.

The matter continues to be investigated by the relevant bodies
