Eldoret based activist Kimutai Kirui roughed up by County Askaris!!
“They have been trailing me, thanks to members of the public who rescued me , this was an attempted kidnap , enforcement officers have no rights to arrest me,”He Said.
Eldoret based Human rights activist roughed up by county askaris after holding peaceful protests in Eldoret on Tuesday.
Kimutai Kirui an Eldoret Based Human right activist and a section of parents who led peaceful demonstrations in Eldoret, Tuesday evening engaged the Uasin Gishu County enforcement officers in a ugly confrontation following an attempted arrest.
The officers who had been trailing the human Right officer from the County Commissioners’ office nabbed him just next to Sirikwa Hotel and would later release him upon the intervention of the members of the public.
Kimutai Kirui claims his life is in danger following his continued agitation for the Finland and Canada parents rights .
“They have been trailing me, thanks to members of the public who rescued me , this was an attempted kidnap , enforcement officers have no rights to arrest me,”He Said.
The activist has assured Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii that he will not be cowed in demanding the rights of the affected parents.
“Unless the take my life I will continue to fight for the rights of the affected parents ,Governor Jonathan Bii should refund back parents money failure to which we will continue to demonstrate” He Opined.
Kimutai has recorded a statement at the Eldoret Central Police Station pending investigations.
